Latest Love: NYX Round Case Lipsticks!

Hey guys! Lately, I have been experimenting with the NYX Round Case Lipsticks and I am so impressed with the quality. I wanted to do a few quick reviews on the couple of shades that I own! This post is showcasing the shade "Chloe 521." It is a hot magenta with a blue and purple duo chrome! It looks so fun and chic on!
Chloe 521

This is so pigmented! Literally with one swipe, it is enough product to cover your whole lips. I love using this as a slight flash of color by tapping just a little product on, or totally packing it on for an intense lip color. The formula is SO smooth and not chalky at all. It has a longevity for about 3 hours, which is amazing in my opinion. It is literally only $4, and the quality is a million times better than most high end lipsticks. I would buy this a thousand times over!! I recommend this lipstick to anyone. Stay tuned for a review on the next shade!

Thank you so much for reading! Please follow and comment! Love you guys <3

Review: La Mer "The Eye Concentrate" Eye Cream {Review, Photos}

Hey guys! This is a review on the La Mer Eye Concentrate! I recently got a sample of it and I am in love! The price is insanely unreasonable so I will be scraping the bottom of my little sample until there is absolutely nothing left. Anyways, for those who can afford this lovely luxury, I hope this is helpful! Keep reading for a detailed review!

Formula: The formula is really nice! It has a nice thick consistency, but it does not feel heavy on my eyes. I have tried eye creams that make my eyes water and shut because of the heaviness. I love this formula because I see INSTANT results when I apply it to my eyes. The fine lines and dark circles look instantly better. I usually am cautious of skin care products because most actually don't work! I am really impressed with this formula. The smell is a little "unique" though and it may not appeal to some.

Would I Ever Buy This?

If I was a blossoming billionaire that could afford to splurge on eye cream like this, yes I would happily buy the full size version of this product. I do not think that for an average person, this eye cream is worth spending $200 on. I am not too familiar with skincare products, but I am positive that there is a another eye cream out there that does an awesome job for a cheaper price.

Thank you guys so much for reading! Sorry I haven't been the best blogger. I know I promised a Fall Look Book, but I have been sick and struggling balancing school work and so much more! I promise a Winter Look Book will come out but I will try my best to fulfill all my promises! Thanks for sticking with me and please follow!!

What's In My Shower TAG {September 2011}

Hey guys! So I am not exactly sure if this tag has already been created, but I am starting my own! This tag post is about all of my current body and hair products I use in the shower. I recently have been loving my routine, so I thought I would share it. Feel free to do this post! I tag everyone!! Also if you want a separate review on any of these products in more detail I would be happy to do so. Make sure to say that I made the tag so we can promote the site <3 thanks guys

So... this is my shower set up. I have the basics and a couple luxuries that I use here and there!
Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Mask ($7)
I haven't used this too many times, but so far I really like this mask so far! I have been wanting to try the Macadamia Nut mask but didn't want to pay the price, so I bought this as an alternative. I am really glad I bought this! It is extremely moisturizing and has some amazing extracts in it. I leave it on for about 5 minutes on the bottom half of my hair and them rinse it out. This does a great job!

Garnier Fructis Fortifying Pure Clean Shampoo and Conditioner ($4-6 each)
This stuff if absolutely amazing! The formula smells phenomenal. Also, this conditioner makes my hair extremely smooth which is rare! I have never owned a conditioner that has helped my hair air dry smoothly. I do like the shampoo as well. It is the slightest bit thick, but I don't feel like there is a lot of residue after the use of it.

Bath and Body Works Coconut Mango Smoothing Body Scrub ($14?)
Unfortunately they do not sell this scent anymore! Bath and Body Works usually comes out with new body scrub options every season. The formula is basically the same for each one so the effect will be similar if you purchase another scent. I really like using this for exfoliating my body every week or so! It smells amazing and my skin feels great after.

The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Shower Gel ($15)
I have been IN LOVE with this shower gel! It is so refreshing and has the sharpest citrus scent. I feel like I am in pure grapefruit heaven when I use this! If you do not like citrus, do not buy this product. This is not a luxurious or creamy wash, it is supposed to refresh you and your body. I bought the giant container of this so I am set for a while!

Thanks for reading everyone! If you thought this was helpful please comment and follow! Feel free to do this post I think it is such a fun idea. Bye guys!  <3

Brown Eyed Girl- An Eye Tutorial {feat. Wet and Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette!}

Hey guys! I was just playing around with some neutral colors the other day and I thought I would share the outcome with you. Enjoy!

I designed this tutorial for brown eyed girls who want open up their eyes and create a doe-eyed effect. This dreamy neutral tutorial will give you soft eyes that will allure anyone that comes by! I really have been in love with the Wet n' Wild Eyeshadows lately, so I thought I would base a tutorial on this product. Their shadows are so pigmented and creamy. Love them!

Products Used:
-Urban Decay Primer Potion
-NYX Slim Eye Pencil in "Brown"
-Wet n' Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette in "Walking on Eggshells"
-Inglot Chocolate Brown Eyeshadow
-CoverGirl Lash Blast Volume Mascara

Directions:
Step 1: Apply your primer on your eye lid and lower lash line.
Step 2: Take the "Lid" color which is a beautiful pinkish champagne and apply it onto your eyelids. An exact dupe for this is Urban Decay's "Sin" Eyeshadow.
Step 3: Apply the lightest white color into your inner corners and on your brow bone. This will highlight your eyes and brighten them up!
Step 4: Take the warm brown and apply it to the outer half of your lid. This will warm up your eyes and add some depth! I don't think the brown in the trio is dark enough so I added some of my Inglot Matte Eyeshadow to darken up the outer corner and crease. Make sure to blend well!
Step 5: Line your eyes with your brown eye pencil. I did my lower lash line, upper lash line, and lower waterline. This will softy define your eyes.
Step 6: You can set the liner with the Inglot eyeshadow. This will provide a longer lasting effect.
Step 7: Apply your mascara. In this picture I didn't do this step but I think it would be BEAUTIFUL if you created spidery long lashes! Curling your lashes multiple times and clumping your lashes will give your eyes an even wider effect! Make sure to coat your lower lashes as well!

Thank you so much for reading! If you enjoyed this tutorial, please follow and tell me down below! Love you guys! <3

Review: Organix Cherry Blossom Shampoo and Conditioner

Hey everyone! Sorry I have been a little MIA! This week has been extremely stressful and hectic academically. Anyways, I just stopped using this shampoo and conditioner duo, so I thought I would do a review on it. I really had been wanting to try Organix because of it's sulfate free formula! I definitely made the wrong choice. I wish I had spent my money on another "flavor" because I was not impressed by this duo AT ALL.

Scent: In terms of scent, this smells pretty good. The scent was what drew me to buying this, but it does not justify any of the negative aspects of this product. This shampoo and conditioner smell exactly like cherry blossom.
Texture: The texture was fine. The conditioner was nice and thick which is what I prefer, but I thought the shampoo could have been a little lighter. The conditioner did not apply evenly at all though. I had to use a lot of product to cover my whole head which was very annoying.
How Did My Hair React?
My hair felt dry, tangly, and did not look healthy while I was using this shampoo. I have heard from other bloggers/reviewers that this made their hair fall out. Obviously something is wrong with this formula. My hair was not silky at all nor did it feel "rejuvenated."I really dislike this shampoo!

Overall, I would never buy this duo again. It did nothing for my hair that was beneficial. I am not saying that Organix is a bad brand at all though! Just this particular product did not work for me whatsoever.

Thanks for reading! If you enjoyed this review, please follow and comment below! What do you think of this product? Did it work for you? Tell me! Thanks guys love you <3!

A Music Update

Hey guys. Recently, I have been on a Skrillex kick. For some reason, every time I get stressed I turn on "Cinema" or "Weekends" by Skrillex. I know that it is supposed to pump you up and make you super aggressive (lol) but I get surprisingly calm after listening to these songs. I just wanted to get the word out there, because he is awesome! He drops some intense bass and is one of my favorite dub step artists. Love him!

P.S. Just a funny thought, I always feel like going to an intense rave every time I listen to dub step. Does that happen to you or am I just weird haha?

DIY: Luxurious Bath Bombs

Ever gone to LUSH and regret not trying one of their famous bath bombs! Not to worry! This super fun DIY will teach you how to make amazing bath bombs for yourself and for others! Keep reading for easy instructions!

What You'll Need:

Dry Ingredients:

  • Baking Soda - 8 ounces
  • Citric Acid - 4 ounces
  • Corn Starch - 4 ounces
  • Salts - 4 ounces
Wet Ingredients:

  • Water - .75 tbsp
  • Essential or Fragrance Oil - 2 tsp (You can use any scents that you want! Peach, strawberries, or a floral scent work really well with this recipe)
  • Oil - 2.5 tbsp
  • Food coloring - 1 or 2 drops. (Try to match it to your fragrance!)
You will also need moldings if you want to make fun shapes.

Directions:
Step 1: Mix the dry ingredients together. Make sure that there are no lumps!
Step 2: Mix your liquids separately. Then slowly pour into your dry ingredients. If it starts to fizz, you are adding your ingredients too quickly. Just whisk the fizzing part quickly and slow down the amount of liquid you are adding. When you are finished the mixture should feel like damp sand.
Step 3: This step must be done quickly. Put your mixture into the desired shape. I like using either muffin pans or a heart shaped pan. Pack the product into the shape. They do not need to sit for a long time.

That's basically it! I hope you enjoyed this recipe! I think this is one of my more unique and cool DIY's so go ahead and give it a try! Thanks for reading guys <3 I got the inspiration and recipe from this link.

Smokey Winged Eyeliner- An EASY Eyeshadow Tutorial

Hey guys!! So, I have been wearing this eye look (minus the lashes) to  the last few parties I've gone to. I really like how easy and simple this is to do even though the impact is quite intense. Keep reading for directions on how to recreate this simple eye look.

Products Used:
  • NYX Super Skinny Marker
  • MAC's Carbon Eyeshadow
  • Urban Decay's Naked Eyeshadow
  • Urban Decay Primer Potion
  • Covergirl Lashblast Volume Waterproof Mascara
Directions:
Step 1: Apply your primer and blend it on your lid. Concentrate the product near your lash line though!
Step 2: Pack a nude eyeshadow onto your lid and brow bone. I used Urban Decay's "Naked" Eyeshadow all over. It will provide a nice base for the liquid liner to stick too.
Step 3: Now take your NYX Super Skinny Marker! I have literally been using this everyday. I am a die hard gel liner lover, but this liquid liner pen is so easy and convenient that I use this more. Anyways, create an extremely dramatic wing. Thicken it at the end. This will open up your eyes. One aspect of this look is that nothing is on your lower eye area. I wanted to create really opened up cat eyes. I cannot stand when people just put a ton of eyeliner on their waterline and call it "makeup." I do not ever wear black eyeliner on my waterline alone because it closes up my eyes. By only lining the upper lash line, it makes my eyes appear more open and larger.
Step 4: Set the eyeliner with a matte black eyeshadow. Feel free to smoke it out a bit. This NYX eyeliner will fade if you do not set it so make sure to do that!
Step 5: Curl your lashes and apply a HEAVY coat of mascara! I am obsessed with this mascara. It is the only mascara that holds my curl. The non-waterproof version is NOTHING compared to this one.
Step 6: Apply your accent lashes. Click HERE to view my false eyelashes tutorial :)

I hope you enjoyed this! It may seem like a lot but honestly when I do my eyes like this is takes about 5 minutes. Try this look out and tell me how it works out for you :)

Anyways, I am so excited to go and try their products. I have heard brilliant things from many gurus but that it was only sold in the UK. Fall Burgundy Bliss: A FALL Tutorial

Hey readers! So this fall, the "IT" colors are forest green, taupe, charcoal, nude, and burgundy. I have a beautiful burgundy Stila Eyeshadow that I thought would be perfect for fall, so I decided to do a fall eye look with this color! Honestly, I think this is the prettiest tutorial I have done so far. I am in love with this eyeshadow look! I hope you enjoy this as much as I do! Keep reading for directions, products, and pictures!!

Products Used:
  • Urban Decay Primer Potion
  • MAC's "Satin Taupe" Eyeshadow
  • Stila's "Burgundy" Eyeshadow
  • Sephora Black Kohl Waterproof Eyeliner
  • Covergirl Lashblast Volume Mascara
  • Maybelline One By One Mascara (bottom lashes)
  • Estee Lauder Pure Color Lipstick in "Candy"
  • Clinique Lipstick in "Angel Red"
  • ELF Lipgloss in "Berry Cherry

Directions:

Eyes:

Step 1: Prime your eyelids. Make sure to put primer on your lower lash line because we are going to be using a lot of products on that area.
Step 2: Take a taupe eyeshadow and pack it onto your lid. I used MAC's Satin Taupe. It is a beautiful taupe color that works so well with the fall trend!
Step 3: Blend the burgundy shadow into your crease and outer corner. This will intensify the look and add a beautiful hint of burgundy to your eyeshadow look.
Step 4: Take a blending brush and smooth out all the harsh lines.
Step 5: Now take your eyeliner and heavily line both of your waterlines and lower lash line. I am never the type of person to wear eye liner on my waterline but I felt like being creative and making it work! I actually like how this turned out.
Step 6: Take the burgundy color with a pencil brush and bring it under the eyeliner. This will give a sultry appearance to your eyes that looks GORGEOUS! The purpl-ish undertones warm up your eyes.
Step 7: Curl your eyelashes. I think this is one of the most important parts of this look. Spidery long lashes make your sultry winter eyeshadow look into a fall appropriate look! I used Covergirl on the top and One By One on my lower lashes because the wand is easier to use for that.

Lips:

If you have a cranberry/mauve lip color, you do not need to do as much layering as I do for the lip portion of this tutorial. I just had to mix and match to find my desired color. I chose a deep mauve lip with cranberry undertones for a festive and fall feel. First I put a light coat of the Estee Lauder lipstick, then dabbed some of the Clinique red lipstick. To tone down the bright colors, my mauve lipgloss by ELF gave a great finish.

 Face:

I went pretty easy on the face. I just heavily contoured my cheeks for a harsher appearance. No blush or anything.

Review: MAC's Paint Pot in "Bare Study" {Review, Swatches, and Photos!}

Hey guys! I've really been liking using this paint pot lately, so I thought I would post a full review on my opinion! Keep reading for a full review, pictures, and a swatch <3

MAC Paint Pot in "Bare Study"
Net Weight:
Company: MAC Cosmetics
Where to buy: Bloomingdales, Nordstroms, MAC Store
Price: $17.50

Formula: I really like the formula of this paint pot! It is easy to work with and blend! It can be a little sheer at times so layering the product will give a more opaque finish. It is a cooler toned champagne with shimmer. Paint Pots are a creamy base that can work as a cream eyeshadow alone or just as an eyeshadow base. I really love using this and this color can be used for multiple purposes like an all over color, inner corner highlight, face highlight, etc.
Packaging: The packaging of this is so so. It is kind of hard to store because it is bulky. It looks kind of cheap as well. The only thing that I like is that it has great access to the actual product so it is easy to scoop out. Some cream shadows have a tiny "hole" so you can barely fit your finger into it. I do like that it is sturdy so the packaging will never break. Overall it's nothing special.
Longevity: The longevity is good with a primer! It does fade over a few hours so I recommend setting it with a base if you are going to be working from the morning to night. There is really any creasing which is impressive. I have only tried using it with Urban Decay's Primer Potion with it under. If you have tried other primers tell me how the results were!!

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you found this review helpful and consider buying this product! I really do like this product overall and would repurchase it in a minute. The versatility appeals to me and the color is spot on. Please give me feedback on how this review was! Don't forget to follow as well <3 Bye guys!

How To: Applying False Eyelashes

Hi guys! So, people make false eyelashes seem like a breeze, but it is ACTUALLY REALLY HARD. There is no easy way of mastering the technique. This post will help improve your skills and give you a little info on how to apply false lashes as well as what each type of lash serves as. Keep reading for helpful tips below <3

Check Out My Other How- To Posts!!!

How To: Blush
Highlighting 101
Bronzing Tips!
Facts

The Purpose: False eyelashes are used to create voluminous, curled, and longer lashes. They open your eyes and can totally change the shape of them. There are different types of lashes, with different colors, designs, and patterns. Normally they are used to create wider set eyes with a lot of definition. False lashes definitely make your eyes the focal point.

Full Set: A full set is the most dramatic type of false eyelashes. A full set of eyelashes goes from the inner corner of your eye to the outer corner. This provides the most definition as an eye-opener. This gives your whole eye a lift!
Outer Accents: Outer accent lashes are for a smaller portion of your eye. You apply them directly to the outer corners. This provides an accent to your natural eye shape. This type of false eyelash is to create a cat eye, not thick lashes like the full set. It extends the edge of your eye, creating a dramatic shape. Pairing this with a thick wing of eyeliner looks gorgeous!
Individual: This is the most natural option for false eyelashes. It is kind of a tedious process because you have to put about 15 little pieces on for a full set. You can also use this just on your outer half. I do like the look of these the best because it is the most natural.

How To Apply:
Applying false eyelashes can be tough and annoying. I still mess up every now and then!
#1: Have your glue ready. I recommend buying a lash glue that didn't come in the package with your eyelashes. Those tend to be cheaply made and have bad longevity. You do not want your eyelashes falling off in the middle of the night!
#2: Hold your lashes at the tips and apply a THIN layer of glue. I always mess this step up because the glue always gets everywhere and onto the actual lashes! Make sure to hold them at an even angle so the glue doesn't drip everywhere!
#3: Let the glue get tacky. The directions on the packaging usually say to wait 30 seconds but honestly it takes so much longer for me. I usually wait like a minute+. It depends on your climate and glue! You have to let it get sticky so it will be easier to place onto your eyes!
#4: Now place the lashes onto your upper lash line. Try to get it as close to your lashes as possible! You want it to blend and look natural. You can use tweezers for a precise placement. I recommend placing the lashes in the middle of your eye and then taking tweezers and dragging the corners to each end of your eye.
#5: Take your lash curler and curl your lashes together. This will blend them together!
#6: Apply a thin coat of mascara to further blend. Some people prefer to apply mascara before they apply their false eyelashes but I just do it after!
Recommendations!
Lash Glue: The two most commons types of lash glue are clear and black. Clear lash glue is usually white with a clear finish and black is for intense eye looks. If you apply too much clear lash glue it may not dry transparent though so be careful!

DUO Lash Glue ($7-8)
This stuff honestly smells horrible but it works magic!

Kiss Strip Eyelash Adhesive Clear ($3.99)
The applicator is amazing and keeps the mess away.

False Eyelashes:

Ardell Accent Lashes
MAC Lashes
NYX Lashes
Dollywink Lashes

BACK TO SCHOOL SERIES- Essential #4: Makeup Must-Haves!

Hey guys! This is a post on what my makeup must-haves for school are! If you want, you can read my past posts in this series by checking out the links down below :)

Back-To-School Picture Day Face Makeup!
Back-To-School Hair Styles!
Back-To-School Backpacks!

#1: Compact Makeup Pouch
You obviously need something to hold your makeup in! A cute little pouch that you can keep in your locker or backpack is the best option. Make sure to pack lightly! I do not recommend bringing foundation, powder, eyeshadow, blush, all of that stuff... Just stick with the essentials and a few touch up items! I love finding cute makeup bags to store my products in! Vera Bradley, Henri Bendel, and Clinique (their bags are usually free with purchase) always have wonderful options. I love these little makeup bags!

Marc Jacobs ($60), Clinque, Vera Bradley ($22)

#2: Eyelash Curler
Usually by the middle of the day, my eyelashes and eyes need a lift. Having an eyelash curler is extremely helpful to open up my eyes! Just a quick curl can make a huge difference. I have short and straight eyelashes unfortunately, but this significantly helps! I use my Revlon Eyelash Curler and it gets the job done.

Revlon Eyelash Curler ($4-7)

#3: Moisturizing Lip Essentials
During the day, my lips become dehydrated and dull. I keep multiple lip products everywhere! I have a few in my pencil case, backpack, and locker! Having a multipurpose product is very convenient. I chose the Rosebud Salves because they smell great, give color, and add shine to my lips! The packaging is adorable as well. Nivea Shimmer Lip Care is a 2 in 1 product as well. It gives a dose of moisture but adds a pearlescent glow to your lips. I lastly chose Carmex balm because I thought everyone should have it. It only adds moisture, but it is extremely thick and will definitely leave your lips feeling smooth on a chilly day!

Rosebud Salve ($7 each), Carmex ($1), Nivea Shimmer ($3)

#4: Have A Mini Perfume/Rollerball
If you need to freshen up or like to smell great, a roller ball perfume is awesome to have. It is easy to carry around and touch up during school! Just make sure not to over apply! You can carry your favorite scent everywhere! If your perfume does not come from the manufacturer, you can purchase special travel sized perfume holders to carry your scents. Travalo is a great company to check out. My ABSOLUTE favorite scent is the Issey Miyake L'eau De Issey perfume. It is amazing and I keep a travel size with me at school. It smells great (to me) and I love it so much. I would recommend this to anyone.

Issey Miyake Rollerball ($23)

#5- Concealer
If you have a nasty breakout that you are trying to conceal, bring a small concealer palette in your makeup pouch. Touching up at lunch or break can make a huge difference. I prefer bringing a small compact with a few different shades of concealer so I can mix and match shades. If you are covering up a zit, use a green toned concealer to counteract the redness! For sallow eyes, try salmon concealer to cover up dark circles. I think the Sonia Kashuk Concealer is great because it comes with three shades and a setting powder! Bobbi Brown's color corrector is amazing as well.

Sonia Kashuk ($12), Bobbi Brown ($22)

THANK YOU so much for your support! I love you guys so much! Please comment below telling me your makeup essentials for school! Don't forget to follow <3

Chicago Photo Diary {Summer 2011}

Hey readers! Just felt like sharing my trip to Chicago, Illinois! Chicago is a beautiful city with MILLIONS of activities to do. I really enjoyed this vacation and I took a few great photos! Keep reading to see the amazing city of Chicago!! <3

Chinatown!

Located right outside the city, Chinatown has fabulous bakeries that serve fresh almond cookies and pastries that are amazing! I was ecstatic when I saw that they served dim sum which is my favorite type of traditional chinese food. Chicago's Chinatown is small and quant with plenty of fun stuff to do!

Gold Coast

The Gold Coast of Chicago is considered the fancy shmancy part of the city. I really loved it there! The first picture is a beautiful fountain at one of the parks. Those delicious looking pancakes are banana pancakes from "The Original Pancake House." If you are ever looking for a yummy breakfast that tastes like desert go visit that place!!!

Museum of Science and Industry

Where I live there are not that many great museums that interest me, but this place is amazing! The Museum of Science and Industry is HUGE. There are like 20 exhibits filled with mind blowing facts and  demonstrations. I loved the weather section that had actual vortexes that you could control, remake of a tsunami, and a lightening reenactment machine. There was a baby chicks center where they place around 15 eggs that are about to hatch so you can witness them! It was SO CUTE! The museum had a real submarine inside it. The whole place was amazing and one of my favorite Chicago stops.

I hope you found this interesting and cool! This was just a small taste of my summer vacation. Oh by the way, they have a FOUR STORY ULTA. It was amazing I almost peed myself. Anyways, thank you so much for reading and have a great day! Love you guys and please follow! <3
